Former Metroid Prime 4 dev releases solo-dev indie game, Carceri

Eight years later, Carceri, the spiritual successor to my previous solo-dev game, 2016 IndieCade Finalist ULTRAWORLD EXODUS, is ready to visit:

But...this isn't a game, it's a place. You'll explore, jump around, find secrets, take pictures, and meet cute folks just tryin' to figure out life (as are we all, right?) Think of this like a Real world that you just so happened to get invited to (which you did, I mean, you are invited!) And you get a camera to take pictures of your vacation.

The name Carceri, Italian for prisons, is a reference to series of etchings from the 1750s by Piranesi. The series depicts imaginary prisons that evoke Escher-like spaces (200 years before Escher, that is). To me, Piranesi was the original Level Designer (my day job), inventing beautiful, impossible spaces that still, somehow, seem enticing to visit (despite being, y'know, prisons).

I don't suspect my game/experiment will break any sales records, especially since I have a hard time explaining what's unique about it, ("This isn't a game, it's a place." is closest to what I'm going for, like philosophically speaking this world EXISTS...but unless you hang out in Carceri, that line doesn't seem very convincing, and is honestly pretty off-putting). Even so, I'm glad I spent a few years making this weird work of Art.

Hopefully it finds some small audience that gets what I was going for, enjoys the narrative, and has fun taking ludicrous pictures of this abstract world!
